The Director of Channel Marketing is responsible for developing the marketing and promotional strategies for key customers and channels of distribution to help Fiskars meet sales and profit objectives. This includes developing marketing and promotional plans and calendars, product launch and commercialization plans, brand asset curation and execution, and being a champion of the company's line review process.   In addition, the Director, Channel Marketing must have a thorough understanding of the key retailers and channels in order to be the conduit between sales, product marketing, and the rest of the organization. Being able to lead, inspire, and communicate at a high level is critical in this role.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead team and develop overall strategy for the channel marketing team.  Develop the channel marketing managers into effective contributors that can develop solid strategies and promotional programs for their key channels and customers.  Develop their skill set to prepare them for other opportunities within the organization when they become available.
  • Coordinate Customer Product Line Reviews with marketing and sales team to develop presentations that will increase Fiskars shelf space and market share, and solidify our position as a key supplier to our customers.
  • Lead key business initiatives and align goals across the peer leadership team Product, Finance, Creative, Operations, etc. in order to function as a high performance team. Be a catalyst for strong effective teamwork.
  • Develop and present strategic marketing programs, promotions, product launches, merchandising, and Point of Purchase (POP) materials to key strategic customers.
  • Work with Category Managers to develop product launch marketing plans.  Develop sales and marketing materials related to new product launches.  Customize new product presentations for sales meetings and shows.  Determine advertising and PR needs where applicable.
  • Work with the sales management team to develop sales training materials to help support our rep agencies' selling efforts.
  • Be the company expert on channels to improve Fiskars ability to efficiently meet needs of the marketplace.
    • Work with Sales Analysts to study POS data and facilitate the category management process.
    • Regularly report on market trends and competitive information.
    • Regularly report retailer product mix information.
  • Actively manage product mixes amongst channels to support Fiskars branding strategy and profit objective.
  • Improve Fiskars profitability by assisting marketing managers with pricing strategies.


  • Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Business or related field of study; MBA desirable
  • 5-7 years successful experience in sales, marketing or management; 5-10 years proven marketing strategy desirable
  • Proven experiences in the following areas:  business analysis, strategic ability, passion for product, ability to communicate effectively with sales, operations and customers; demonstrated ability to develop business plans (ideally that deliver increased sales & margins, including new product launch success) with consequent analytical and strategic skills; experienced project leader and team player; experience with customer presentations
