The HR Generalist will work with the HR team aiding with recruitment efforts, orientation and onboarding of new hires, and other administrative HR programs. This is a generalist role that will assist in training, staffing & recruiting, onboarding, onsite events, and employee relations.

This position is in Excelsior Springs, MO in our Hose Manufacturing Plant. This is a union environment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage all temporary staffing needs in coordination with Manufacturing Manager
  • Assist with the recruiting efforts for professional roles and union workforce. Review resumes, schedule interviews, and maintain contact with candidates throughout the recruitment process to maintain standards and timelines for recruiting. Administrative and high-level involvement required throughout the process. May conduct initial phone screens.
  • Maintain the recruitment systems and websites utilized to attract high level talent including Applicant Pro, Linked-In, and Indeed etc.
  • Conduct and coordinate employee orientation process from acceptance to start date to ensure new employees are appropriately welcomed and oriented to the company, policies/procedures, and total rewards.
  • Responsible for hiring employees into the HCM systems (Workday and UltiPro). Also responsible for general maintenance of employee data including job titles, pay changes, manager assignments, departments, locations, etc. Will provide support in conducting data audits to ensure high accuracy of information maintained in the system.
  • Enter temporary staff into KRONOS
  • Coordinate the Attendance program for the union workforce maintaining data in KRONOS, sending weekly reports, serving disciplinary notices, etc.
  • Administer leave management programs (FMLA and Short-Term Disability)
  • Assist in planning and delivering quality employee activities that create a positive working community at Fiskars.
  • Will run various reports from the HCM system to provide meaningful and timely information to other members of the HR team and department heads, including HR Metrics.
  • Execute the daily, weekly and monthly tasks related to the employee service award program, wellness program, and education assistance program. 
  • Assist in the scheduling and administrative functions necessary to deliver training programs.
  • Assist Benefits Administrator with administrative benefit tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for ID badge administration process for all new hires, broken badges, lost badges, etc.
