 The Warehouse Supervisor will coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of warehouse associates in a union environment who receive, handle, store, record, and dispatch goods in the manufacturing warehouse. This role will ensure that there is sufficient inventory to meet the organization's needs by ordering boxes and pallets; managing out-of-stock over-stocked products; enter data into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records; retrieve stored information; respond to inquiries (i.e. inventory levels, delivery schedules); monitor warehouse activities to ensure that goods are stored correctly and safely and warehouse space is used efficiently. This position will also monitor the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and protection of equipment and make recommendations for improvements; prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met; supervise staff to ensure that all warehouse activities and all machines and equipment operated safely. This position will train new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Drive Continuous Improvement - Innovative ideas that will constantly improve the safety, quality, and productivity of the warehouse.
  • Schedule and process outbound loads and shipments - Proactively keep material moving.
  • Inventory Cycle Count - Count 100% inventory 3 times a year with  99% accuracy.
  • Input Raw material receipt records - Maintain an accurate accounting of goods received.
  • Prepare Milk-run schedule for picking orders in the warehouse - keep raw materials flowing to production, no stock outs.
  • Create list of boxes and pallets to be ordered for future weeks production - manage a smooth flow of inventory without over stocking.
  • General operations planning and issues.; other duties as assigned


  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree or 7-10 years of equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of direct supervisory experience (staff or 10 or more); 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Strong computer and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated quantified improvement of KPIs for which they were responsible and experience in an Union environment or labor intensive operation or plastics processing are desirable but not required
