Responsible for the installation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs to facility and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, extruders, knitters, coilers, industrial air compressors, chiller systems, building infrastructure, and support equipment. As a part of a service group, this positions goal is to maximize the potential for achieving manufacturing's production goals, health, safety, environmental and quality standards.


  • Trouble shoot production and facility equipment to include but not limited to all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities
  • Performs water treatment and testing
  • Installs new equipment
  • Tests, modifies, repairs, adjusts, replaces, and fabricates jigs and fixtures, cleans and paints equipment
  • Performs building and grounds maintenance
  • Provides guidance and direction to fellow associates in both production and maintenance groups
  • Acquires detailed knowledge of all machinery, materials and facility operations
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities which include but not limited to 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, TPM, and other lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Keeps work area clean at all times, which includes picking up trash and keeping area free of debris
  • Works with all levels of management, staff, union personnel, vendors and the public
  • Responsible to perform special assignments, or projects as required by management



  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal job instruction
  • Proactive
  • Self motivated in a fast paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills (Problem Solving)
  • Independent decision making
  • Computer skills using Microsoft office
  • Must provide own basic hand tools



    • Completion of four-year apprentice training program preferred
    • Manufacturing maintenance experience (minimum 2 years)
    • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
    • Preventive maintenance systems and / or work instructions



    • Regular attendance required
    • Ability to work overtime or odd hours required
    • Move job related equipment/products using safe lifting/moving techniques
    • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
    • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 50 lbs required
    • Required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection and use all other safety devices required in the job classification performed
    • Required to abide by Company safety policies and procedures
    • Bending, lifting and pushing with hand, wrist and arm motion required
    • Constant use of hands and finger dexterity required
    • Ability to perform safe lifting procedures and follow all Company safety regulations required





Various small hand tools, gauges, test equipment, acetylene torch, welder, lathe, milling machine, saws, band saws, drills, grinders, sheet metal brakes and shears, glass bead equipment, scissor lift, fork lifts, equipment cleaning tank, ladders, battery charger and all other tools and equipment necessary to the performance of the job.
