The Category Analysis Manager will analyze customer specific market and consumer data for developing strategy, making business building recommendations, and developing high quality supporting presentations. Specific tasks within this role include: providing retail merchandising expertise and key input into determining space management objectives; providing retailer and product information to support corporate business insights; analyzing POS data.

This person will conduct analyses and create both custom and standardized reports for the retailer and cross-functional internal departments. This person will also work with the customer to provide analyses on how the category performs and how customer programs will drive POS.

This position will be responsible for partnering with Walmart to drive category management principles through the application of data analytics, insights, and strategy recommendations.

Major Duties:

    • Analyze data and category performance and communicate insights and recommended actions to the Customer.
    • Assess category and item trends from multiple perspectives including internal data, competitive trends, market research, consumer/marketplace trends, and customer feedback in order to synthesize category needs and gaps. Analyzes POS and utilizes Retail Link.
    • Lead and/or assist with presentation development; prioritize analysis and determine project scope potential, ROI, etc.
    • Define data requirements, scope and analytical know-how in support of plan-o-gram development, product mix, category definition, profitability and segment development.
    • Assist sales with planning and customer strategy by utilizing market knowledge, consumer research, sales and customer feedback. Ensure that the strategy is aligned with company business objectives.
    • Have an in depth understanding of consumer demographics and trends in order to assist PMI in designing research for evaluating both existing products and new concepts.
    • Provide strategic insights into customer merchandizing strategy, planning, product assortment, and competitive trends.
    • Responsible for developing and maintaining POGs using JDA Space Planning. Work closely with customer and modular development team on modular relay process. Adhere to Walmart Modular relay process and major deadlines associated.

 

 

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 5-10 years customer management experience. Advanced analytical skills, us of PC based applications; Consumer Products experience is desirable
    • Analytical Reasoning; Planning; Communication; Business Acumen; Quantitative Reasoning
    • Demonstrated ability in analyzing data, formulating recommendations, developing presentations
    • Efficient in JDA Prospace
